Nice to meet you!
I’m Amy Tschupruk (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Art Therapist trained at Toronto Art Therapy Institute.
I work with children (in-person), teens (in-person/virtually), and adults (in-person/virtually), supporting people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of their place in the world.
Art has been a central part of my life since I was young. I’ve always been drawn to making things as a way to think, feel, and process experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I explored other creative paths, including fine arts studies and creative digital work. While rewarding, those experiences highlighted my desire for work that felt relational, meaningful, and grounded in people’s lived experiences, which ultimately led me to art therapy.
I take a down-to-earth, collaborative approach to therapy. Sessions typically include a combination of talk therapy and art-making catered to your needs and preferences. Art is always optional and requires no specific skills: it’s a tool to access feelings, reflect, and explore experiences in ways words alone sometimes can’t. My focus is helping thoughtful, sensitive, and creative individuals process emotions, understand patterns, and develop tools that support clarity, self-trust, and agency.
I’m trained at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, where I also work as a Teaching Assistant. As part of my graduate training, I completed a major research project on art therapy in the context of ecological crisis. This work continues to inform my sensitivity to existential concerns, grief, and uncertainty that many people carry today.
